AndreaMosaic gives you deep control on Windows, macOS and Linux, and its free version handles very large collections. Imagia trades some of that control for convenience: nothing to install, a live preview, and apps for iPhone and Android. We make Imagia; details about AndreaMosaic are as it presented itself in October 2026.

Imagia and AndreaMosaic side by side

The main difference is where the work happens. AndreaMosaic runs on your computer, and every photo has to be there first. Imagia runs in the browser and in its mobile apps, so photos can come from your phone, your computer, Google Drive or other people.

No install, live preview

Open the studio, add a main photo and your tiles, and the mosaic appears in seconds. Change the layout, detail or colour blend and it updates straight away, so you can try ideas without waiting for a render. Zoom in with the loupe to check that every tile still looks like a photo.

Built for gifts and groups

Most mosaics are made for someone: a wedding, an anniversary, a memorial, a team. A shared link lets guests and family add their photos from their phones, without an account. At an event, a live group mosaic can fill up on a screen as photos arrive.

When AndreaMosaic is the better tool

If you're building gigapixel-scale mosaics from tens of thousands of photos, want to work offline, or like fine-tuning every parameter, AndreaMosaic is excellent and its standard version is free. For a print-ready gift or wall piece made quickly, on any device, try the Imagia photo mosaic maker.

Made to be displayed

A finished mosaic is a real piece of art — for the living room, as a gift, or printed big enough to fill a wall.

Common questions

Do I need to install anything?

No. Imagia runs in any modern browser. There are also optional apps for iPhone and Android.

How large can an Imagia mosaic be?

Downloads are print-ready up to 20,000 pixels on the long side, enough for large posters and canvas prints.

Can I use thousands of tile photos?

Yes, but you rarely need to: 300 to 500 varied photos give an excellent result, and around 100 is enough for a recognisable mosaic.
